Usually the word Nativity brings to mind the birth of Jesus. This seemed like a nativity scene to me as I sketched baby Lucy’s introduction to Beloved dog Madison. Such care was taken, such attention! She’s so tiny and Madison seems LARGE.
Interesting how the tiny one rearranges home life dramatically.
Nativity is defined as “birth, especially the place, conditions, or circumstances of…” Here we witness not a static event but the continuation of the careful preparation and the movement into the formation of family life where there’s plenty of love to go around!
By the Way, Madison was quite curious and vigilant for about 24 hours, then exhausted, she seemed to accept Lucy and now checks on her- sniffing occasionally, happy to be outdoors most of these beautiful fall days.
