I’ve been painting one snowy watercolor scene after another. Three have been studies of Tony Couch, the Master Watercoloist. It’s good practice to learn from the masters- study their work carefully and then interpret. Like life, it’s great to appreciate the model and wisdom of those who go before us. So after I “finished” this painting, I propped it up and have lived with it for this last week….something else was needed. It wasn’t done! Finally I got it!
Daffodils! Yes, that welcome, hardy bulb that can take the tough snowy winter, the promise of spring. So look carefully- the hint of things to come is embedded …waiting its moment to shine.
